Frequently Asked Questions
Is the rate per vehicle or per person, and is it a flat rate?
The rate is per vehicle — you won't be charged individually per passenger. That said, it does vary based on your group size, since we work with 3 pricing tiers: 1 to 3 people, 4 to 7 people, and 8 to 12 people per vehicle.
It's important to select the correct tier when booking: for example, if you select 1 to 3 passengers but 4 travelers show up, an extra-passenger fee will apply. The same applies to your transfer zone: if you book "Airport–Cancun" but your hotel is actually located in Playa del Carmen or another zone, a zone-difference surcharge will apply as well. To avoid last-minute charges, we recommend confirming your exact passenger count and destination hotel/zone before completing your booking.
If my group is arriving on different flights, can you pick us up at two different terminals?
No, the service only covers pickup at a single terminal. If your group is arriving on different flights that land at different terminals at Cancun Airport, all passengers will need to meet at the same terminal to be picked up together — the vehicle cannot make stops at two separate terminals within the same service. If this applies to you, we recommend coordinating with our team before booking so we can help you find the best solution (for example, meeting at a shared terminal or booking separate transfers).
What happens if my flight is delayed or arrives early?
We monitor your flight in real time to adjust your pickup accordingly, whether it's delayed or arrives early, at no extra cost. In the case of a delay, your driver will wait up to 2 hours after landing (this window covers landing time only, not the time it takes to collect your luggage or clear customs). If the wait exceeds 2 hours, the service will be considered a No Show.
- If your flight is cancelled, we'll rebook your transfer as soon as you reach out to us through any of our official channels with your new flight and arrival time. We recommend contacting us as early as possible so we can arrange the logistics.
- If your flight isn't cancelled but you're unable to board — for example, due to overbooking or a missed connection — the service will be considered a No Show, unless you notify us at least 2 hours before your originally scheduled arrival time; in that case, we can offer flexibility and rearrange your transfer. If you notify us with less than 2 hours' notice, we're unable to reschedule or cancel the service due to logistical constraints.
Where will my driver be waiting at the airport, and how do I identify them?
After collecting your luggage at Cancun International Airport, head to the prepaid transportation arrivals area for your terminal. Our uniformed staff will be waiting there with a sign printed with your name.
If you're arriving at Terminal 4, keep this in mind: once you exit, take the door on the left side of the hallway, which leads to the prepaid transportation area. If you continue straight ahead, you'll exit through the door reserved for those meeting family members, and our driver won't be able to find you there. At Terminals 2 and 3, the meeting point is nearly identical, so simply head to the prepaid transportation arrivals area.
An important safety note: outside the airport, it's common to encounter people offering their own transportation services. If someone approaches you claiming your transportation won't arrive, please disregard them — we don't have staff soliciting business in the airport's common areas. Always look for your driver in the official prepaid transportation area, or contact us through our official channels if you have any questions. We also recommend not letting airport porters direct you to another transportation company.
Finally, double-check the date, time, and flight number on your confirmation voucher before you travel. If you spot any incorrect information, email us at info@govisitcancun.com to request a correction ahead of time.
How much notice will I get for hotel pickup on my return transfer to the airport?
We recommend scheduling your pickup at least 3 hours before your departure flight, allowing time not only for check-in and airport security, but also for the drive itself: the Riviera Maya can have unpredictable road conditions (traffic, construction, or the occasional accident) that add extra time, and this buffer helps absorb that kind of delay.
If you'd prefer a tighter pickup window, just let our team know when coordinating your service; however, keep in mind that reducing this safety margin is at your own risk, as we can't guarantee the drive won't run into delays beyond our control.
Is the transfer 100% private, or is it shared with other passengers?
The service is 100% private: the vehicle travels exclusively for your group, with no stops to pick up other passengers along the way. You'll go straight from the terminal to your hotel (or vice versa), with no detours.
How much luggage can I bring, and what vehicle size should I choose?
There's no fixed luggage limit, since vehicle size is assigned based on passenger count (remember the 3 tiers: 1 to 3, 4 to 7, and 8 to 12 people), not based on bags. That said, if you're traveling with excess luggage —for example, a small group with many large bags— please let us know in the Comments section when booking, so our team can review your case and help find the best solution: sometimes everything fits in the same 12-passenger van, and other times a second vehicle is needed. Letting us know in advance helps us coordinate smoothly on the day of your transfer.
Can I request car seats or child restraint systems?
Yes, car seats are available upon request (please note it in the comments section when booking, specifying your child's age/weight).
