About

Tour Overview

Xplor is Grupo Xcaret’s adventure park in the Riviera Maya and, according to the park itself, the most visited zip-line park in the world. In a single day, you’ll fly over the jungle on 14 zip lines, drive an amphibious vehicle along jungle trails and through flooded caves, paddle a raft down underground rivers, and swim among stalactites. And since it’s an all-inclusive park, the buffet, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are unlimited, so all you have to do is enjoy the ride.

Although most travelers search for it as “Xplor Cancun,” the park is actually in the Riviera Maya, right next to Xcaret Park and about 15 minutes from Playa del Carmen. From the Cancun Hotel Zone, it’s roughly a 1 hr 15 min drive. That’s why Go Visit Cancun offers two ways to book: tickets only, if you already have a ride, or the Xplor tour with round-trip transportation from your hotel or meeting point.

Choose How to Experience Xplor: Tickets Only or Tour with Transportation

Both options include exactly the same experience inside the park. The only difference is how you get there:

Option What’s Included Best For
Tickets only Xplor All-Inclusive admission: activities, gear, buffet, snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and locker. Free parking at the park. Travelers staying in or near Playa del Carmen, or driving a rental car.
Tour with transportation Everything above + round-trip, air-conditioned transportation from your hotel or the nearest meeting point. Travelers staying in Cancun, Costa Mujeres, Puerto Morelos or the Riviera Maya who’d rather not drive.

Xplor Tickets (Admission Only)

Book your ticket, get to the park on your own and show your reservation along with a valid photo ID at the ticket booth. It’s the most budget-friendly option if you’re staying near Playa del Carmen.

Xplor Tour with Hotel Transportation

We pick you up at your hotel or the nearest meeting point and drop you back off at the end of the day. Transportation is shared with other park visitors, and once inside Xplor you explore the activities on your own, at your own pace (there’s no guide accompanying the group inside the park).

Activities Included at Xplor Park

Your ticket gives you access to every activity in the park, as many times as you want during opening hours. Here’s what’s waiting for you:

Zip Lines: Two Circuits over the Mayan Jungle

  • 14 zip lines across two circuits of seven, covering 2.4 miles (3.8 km) in total and including the highest zip line in the Riviera Maya.
  • Suspension bridges and water landings that turn each circuit into a mini expedition through the treetops.
  • Requirements: minimum height of 3 ft 7 in (1.10 m) and weight between 88 and 300 lbs (40–136 kg).

Amphibious Vehicles through Jungle and Caves

Get behind the wheel of an amphibious vehicle and cruise along jungle trails, bridges and flooded caves. It’s a family favorite, since everyone rides together and shares the adventure. These vehicles seat up to 4 passengers, and you don’t need a driver’s license to drive one, just be 18 or older.

Xplor’s Underground Rivers and Cenotes

Beneath the Riviera Maya jungle lies a hidden world of caves and crystal-clear fresh water, the same cenote landscape found all across the Yucatan Peninsula. At Xplor, you can explore it in two ways:

  • Underground river rafting: float through the caves on a raft, paddling with your hands past striking rock formations.
  • Stalactite River swim: wearing a helmet and life jacket, you’ll swim along an underground river surrounded by stalactites and stalagmites that took nature thousands of years to form.

Hamacuatizaje, Toboganxote and the Underground Expedition

  • Hamacuatizaje (hammock splash): glide down a zip line seated in a hammock until you splash into a cenote.
  • Toboganxote: a 5-in-1 water slide that ends in a wave pool, designed to be enjoyed as a group.
  • Underground Expedition: an adventure below ground where you’ll explore, slide and swim through caves and crystal-clear water.

Unlimited Buffet and Drinks

With this much action, you’ll work up an appetite fast. Your ticket includes a buffet meal plus stations throughout the park with unlimited snacks and non-alcoholic drinks: smoothies, fresh juices, aguas frescas, coffee, fruit and oatmeal cookies. Keep in mind that Xplor’s all-inclusive is alcohol-free.

Sample Itinerary for the Tour with Transportation

  • 7:00–8:00 AM — Pickup at your hotel or meeting point (depending on your area).
  • Around 9:00 AM — Arrival at Xplor, check-in and lockers.
  • 9:00 AM–5:00 PM — Explore the activities and enjoy the buffet at your own pace.
  • 5:30 PM — Return transportation departs from the park.
  • Around 7:30 PM — Drop-off at your hotel or meeting point.

Pro tip: start with one of the zip-line circuits or the amphibious vehicles, and save the underground rivers for the hottest part of the day. That way you’ll make the most of your morning energy and cool off underground around midday.

Why Book Xplor with Go Visit Cancun?

  • One booking, all sorted: park admission plus transportation from your hotel in Cancun or the Riviera Maya, with no need to arrange rides yourself.
  • Clear info before you go: we tell you upfront what each option includes, what it doesn’t, and the requirements for every activity, so there are no surprises at the ticket booth.
  • Local support: a Cancun-based team that’s available on WhatsApp before, during and after your visit.
  • Bundle and save: add Xplor to a Tour Package with Xcaret, Xel-Há or other excursions.

  • Alcoholic beverages.
  • Transportation with the tickets-only option.
  • Souvenirs, tips and personal expenses.

What to Bring

  • Water shoes or sneakers with good grip: required for the activities. Sandals are only allowed for walking around, the buffet and the amphibious vehicles; for all other activities you’ll have to carry them. That’s why we recommend water shoes or sneakers with good traction.
  • Swimsuit (wear it under your clothes), a towel and a change of dry clothes.
  • Park-approved sunscreen and bug spray: only products made with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are allowed. If yours don’t qualify, you can swap them for an approved sample at the entrance and get yours back when you leave.
  • Original photo ID: a valid passport for international visitors, including U.S. and Canadian travelers (digital copies aren’t accepted).
  • Cash or card for photos, souvenirs or extras.
  • Lightweight, quick-dry clothing and a hair tie for long hair on the zip lines.

Traveler tip: hydrate well before starting each zip-line circuit; once you’re on it, it’ll be a while before you reach another drink station.

  • Zip-line harnesses: fit a maximum waist size of 47 in (120 cm) and a maximum thigh size of 25.5 in (65 cm). For guests over 250 lbs (115 kg), park staff will assess each guest’s build to determine whether they can complete all or part of the activity.
